EyePrintPRO™ is the NEW Contact Lens HOPE for Namibia.

Updated: Sep 13, 2019

For people with good vision or those who wear prescription glasses or contacts for everyday corrective use, it can be easy to overlook how essential sight is to a person’s daily life. Even a simple task like opening your eyes and walking forward can be taken for granted.

EyePrintPRO™ is an optically clear prosthetic scleral device that is manufactured according to an impression taken, like a fingerprint, unique to each individual, matching the exact contours of the eye providing best vision and comfort. The prosthetic scleral cover shell improves vision by creating a new, smooth, refractive surface for the eye.

The EyePrintPRO™ is indicated for patients who can not wear any other modality of vision correction often due to eye disease such as keratoconus, irregular astigmatism, ocular surface disease (dry eye), trauma, extreme cases of deformed eyes, pellucid marginal degeneration, chemical burns, post surgical corneas, pinguecula, pterygium, stem cell failure, or simply those who desire better vision and comfort. In many cases this lens becomes their only hope for functional vision.

The concept of EyePrint Prosthetics was developed by Dr. Christine Sindt.

Dr. Sindt has devoted her career to providing vision for patients with diseased and irregular corneas. After developing the patented EyePrint ocular surface impression process, she partnered with Keith Parker, President of Advanced Vision Technologies, a state of the art specialty contact lens manufacturing laboratory.

On the 5th of September 2019 Dr. Sindt and Keith Parker brought their concept for the first time to the African continent. They have certified two contact lens practitioners, Shaarla Persadh and Simone Klose at the Olympia Eye & Laser Centre in Windhoek.

We are thankful to offer this new technology to our patients, adding to our growing specialist eye care portfolio.
